DELFT XVIIIE, Exceptional stanniferous earthenware plate wit - Lot 687
DELFT XVIIIE, Exceptional stanniferous earthenware plate with blue monochrome decoration depicting a 17th-century lady of quality wearing flowers in her hair, inspired by Rosalba CARRERA's models, which served as inspiration for the productions of the Compagnie des Indes in the 18th century. Blue monochrome decoration in the Japanese style. Here, the European engraving becomes a portrait of an ancestor depicted on a removable plate set on a base restored with gold in the Kintsugi style (accidents and missing pieces). Antique label on the reverse bearing N°267. Dim. 25.5x26x6.5 cm. This object shows the interaction between European and Chinese inspirations and the beginnings of globalization.
