Pauillac Grand Cru Classé 1 Btle Château Mouton Rothschild 1 - Lot 52
Pauillac Grand Cru Classé 1 Btle Château Mouton Rothschild 1945 "Année de la Victoire V" N° R.C pour Réserve du Château (low shoulder level, label in good condition very slightly stained).
Provenance: In the same family since its purchase from the estate, inherited in the 1980s.
Château Mouton Rothschild 1945 is considered one of the most legendary vintages of the 20th century, produced in the aftermath of the Second World War.
This vintage marks both the victory and the rebirth of the estate. To celebrate this event, Philippe de Rothschild entrusted the label to artist Philippe Jullian, who depicted the famous "V" of Victory - a first in the series of illustrated labels that would become Mouton Rothschild's signature.
The 1945 vintage is exceptionally concentrated, powerful and remarkably long-lived. A blend dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, it expresses the richness of the Pauillac terroir.
Even today, these perfectly preserved bottles are among the most sought-after in the world by collectors and connoisseurs of historic grands crus.
